Like any other purebred dog, Bernese Mountain Dogs  have their share of health

issues . Please do not let anyone tell you otherwise. There is a wealth of information

out there on this breed specifically . There are issues with cancer to orthopedics and

one should educate themselves completely before they start a search for a puppy .

It is also extremely important to validate information once it is gathered by cross referencing

with data bases like the Berner Garde , Orthopedic Foundation of America and other sources

 listed below. Reputable breeders should always furnish references, give health data openly ,

 supply you with copies of all health records regarding the puppy and several generations

behind that puppy . Finally , in most regions there are various clubs and I would  encourage
